Welcome
At Hill Country Myofascial Release, we specialize in gentle, sustained MFR using the John F. Barnes Method.
Located in Leander, Texas, we help clients reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore balance — naturally.
If you’re living with chronic pain, tightness, past injuries, or restricted movement, Myofascial Release may help your body heal from the inside out.
What is MFR?
Myofascial Release is a safe, hands-on therapy that works with the body’s fascial system.
Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, nerves, and organs. Trauma, inflammation, stress, and repetitive strain can cause fascial restrictions that create pain and limit movement.
Using sustained pressure and guided release techniques, we work slowly and intentionally to allow the body to unwind and restore mobility.

About Us
Hill Country MFR began in a way we never expected. Marcos was simply looking to buy a massage table from someone who was closing their practice… but that one table quickly turned into something much bigger. Before we knew it, we had the opportunity to step into a whole new path and Hill Country Myofascial Release was born. Marcos soon asked his son Jacob, an MFR therapist, to join him as a co-owner, and together they began building what is now Hill Country MFR. Marcos is also the owner of Pilates Center of Austin, where his passion for movement and helping people feel better has been at the heart of his work for many years.
Using the John F. Barnes approach, sessions are slow, intentional, and tailored specifically to your restrictions and goals.
Our philosophy is simple:
Address the root cause — not just the symptoms.
Frequently Asked Questions
Still have questions? Take a look at the FAQ or reach out anytime.
-
While massage focuses primarily on muscles, Myofascial Release works with the fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds and supports your entire body. Gentle, sustained pressure allows restrictions to soften and release, helping address the root cause of pain rather than just the symptoms.
-
Myofascial Release may help with chronic pain, limited mobility, old injuries, headaches, postural imbalances, and areas that feel tight or stuck. Because fascia connects throughout the body, treatment often improves overall movement and comfort.
-
Sessions are slow and intentional. Your therapist uses gentle sustained pressure to allow the fascia to release naturally. Many people notice increased ease of movement, reduced pain, and a deeper awareness of their body afterward.
-
Wear comfortable clothing and plan to undress to your comfort level. Because MFR works directly with the fascia, sessions are typically done without oils or lotions so the therapist can apply sustained pressure to specific areas of the body. You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.
-
Unwinding is a natural process that can occur during Myofascial Release when the body begins to release long-held fascial restrictions. You may notice gentle movements, stretching, or shifts in your body as it returns to a natural, balanced state.
